Pony
Although the Pony Club cannot provide ponies, it is not essential to own your own. Many members hire them from riding schools to allow them to take part in the mounted activities. The versatility of the Connemara makes it an ideal choice.
There are no height restrictions for Pony Club competitions but do check the eligibility of your pony as those with high levels of points gained in other activities, such as showjumping, may be unable to take part.
Many members bring on their own ponies as they progress through the Pony Club. Irish bred ponies such as Garryhack Bobby and Mr. Polo, who now compete internationally for Ireland, came through the Pony Club. For more information on successful Irish bred ponies, visit the Irish Horse Board.
